01 — DefinitionWhat is the Board?
The Board is the music Jeopardy game inside Dronk, the party game app with 14 games in one. It takes the quiz-show format everybody recognizes (a grid of categories and rising point values) and swaps the trivia questions for music. Every column is an artist, every row is a point value from 100 to 500, and every square hides a real clip of one of that artist's songs.
The difficulty is baked into the grid. The app ranks each artist's songs by how well known they are, so the 100 square is a signature hit and the 500 square is an album track only real fans will recognize. That gives every team a real decision each turn: play it safe for 100, or gamble on a 500 that hands out five penalties if you nail it and costs everyone if nobody does.
One phone runs the whole game. The person holding it is the judge: they tap the square, the clip plays out loud, and they decide which team said the right title first. No buzzers, no second screens, no streaming login.

1Name your teams and pick a board
Set the number of teams (2 to 4), name them and tap the animal to change it. Then choose a board: a ready-made one, Build your own board (pick 5 of 52 artists, one column each) or One artist with columns by era. Your first premium board, build-your-own included, is a free trial game.

2Pick a square
The board: five artist columns, here Eminem, Coldplay, Adele, Bruno Mars and Dua Lipa, with squares from 100 to 500 and the team scores at the top. Used squares go dark. The team in turn picks a tile: 100 is the hit everyone knows, 500 is for superfans, and the undo arrow in the corner fixes a mistaken call.

3Hear the clip, shout the song
Adele for 300: the clip plays out loud and “Which song is it?” is the only question. Tap to replay the clip while the teams argue. The judge taps Show answer, reveals the title and awards the square to the first team that got it right, or to nobody, in which case every team takes the penalties.

4Clear the board: winners hand out 5, last place takes 3
After all 25 squares the app calls it: The Boys win, 2,400 points to 1,900. The penalties are spelled out on screen, winners hand out 5 and last place takes 3, and Play again starts the same board with a fresh set of songs. Back to the boards picks a new one.

Dispute about an answer? Both teams take a penalty and the game goes on. It ends the argument faster than any replay.

04 — StrategyHow to win the Board
Open on 100s and 200s, not because they're safe, but because they're fast
Early squares set the tempo. Clearing the easy rows first gets every team on the scoreboard and keeps the room loud. Save the 400s and 500s for when the standings are close and a single square can flip the game.
Pick the column your opponents know least
In the Board everyone can answer every square, so the strategy isn't "what do we know" but "what do they not know". If the other team is all pop fans, spend your turns in the Rap column and let them sit through clips they can't place.
Build-your-own boards: two hits, two wildcards, one trap
The best custom boards mix artists everyone can score on with one artist that only your team has been listening to. Five obscure picks make a silent room; five obvious picks make a coin flip. Two, two and one is the sweet spot.
Decide the tie-break rule before the first clip: "first full title wins" is the fairest. The app lets you undo the last call if the room convinces you otherwise, but you'll only get away with that once.

What is music Jeopardy?
Music Jeopardy is a team quiz played on a grid of categories and point values, where each square is a song instead of a trivia question. Teams pick a square, hear the clip and race to name the song. Higher values mean harder songs and bigger rewards. The Board in Dronk plays this format on one iPhone with real music clips.
How many teams can play the Board?
2 to 4 teams. There is no limit on how many people are on a team, so a room of 12 works fine as 3 teams of 4. One person holds the phone and judges which team answered first.
Which boards are available in English?
Three ready-made boards: Mixed (free, 5 random international artists from the catalog), Pop Stars and Rap (both Premium). You can also build your own board from 5 artists you pick, or play a whole board about one artist with categories by era.
How do scoring and penalties work?
The first team with the right answer gets the square's points and hands out penalties equal to the value divided by 100, so a 300 square is 3 penalties. If nobody answers correctly, every team takes the penalties. After all 25 squares the winners hand out 5 penalties and last place takes 3. A penalty is whatever your group agreed on beforehand.
Is the Board free?
The Dronk app is free and the Mixed board is free to play. Pop Stars, Rap, build-your-own and one-artist boards are part of Dronk Premium, and you get one complete free trial game of any premium board on your device before that.
Do I need Spotify to play?
No. The clips play inside the app. There is no streaming login, and you can download the music ahead of time and play without a connection.
Is the Board affiliated with Jeopardy?
No. Jeopardy is a trademark owned by another company. The Board uses the familiar grid-and-points quiz format that people describe as music Jeopardy, but it is a separate game and Dronk is not affiliated with or endorsed by the trademark owner.
